MATCH REPORTS

U7 Lions - W

Sunday 30/03/2025

Today’s game was a challenge and the boys had to really battle in midfield and track back at times but they came through and came out on top!
Really proud of how the boys all played today, we saw some really good movement and some great goals and saves!
You should all be proud of yourselves today as it was a tough game but you all played your part and put a real shift in!!
Once again this team showed what they are about and are getting a reputation among other teams that know we mean business, keep it up Lions 🦁 well done.
The score line could have been a lot greater if it had not been a fantastic performance for Gomersal’s goalkeeper, I’d just like to mention that as she had a brilliant game and kept the score line down.
Big shout out to Carter today for Man Of The Match who went home for a well-deserved butty! He ran the show from the back pinging balls across to the danger areas and keeping calm on the ball to make runs and set up attacks! Well done buddy πŸ˜ƒ

U7 tigers W - L Dalton

Sunday 30/03/2025

Massive well done to all the kids I honestly believe yesterday was probably the best football we have played this season so far.
Every week each kid brings something different to the match and individual improvement is seen each week which is great to see for us coach's as it means the stuff we are showing them and telling them at training is getting through even when it may not seem like it on the day.
Lucie: once again finding herself in great position up front to recieve the ball and putting there goalkeeper and defenders under pressure very unlucky to not score but keep doing what your doing and it will come πŸ”₯
Noah: brilliant in net again for the first 20 a little mistake with the ball slipping out of his hands but he made up for it with some great saves and gathering the ball quickly and when came outfield was very strong and flawlessly assisted alfie πŸ”₯
Max: always full of energy and covers all the pitch some great control of the ball and making some great tackles very unlucky to not get a goal keep up the great work πŸ”₯
Alfie: played some great football linked up really well with issac finding space and using his voice and scoring a great goal 'top bins 🀣' πŸ”₯
Dessie: each week you get more confident on the ball and making tackles and it's definitely showing on the day the improvement your making, you may have nearly given me a heart attack when in the net you did really well keep up the hard work πŸ”₯
Zack-oppo pom: played some great football yesterday the solo runs up the pitch there team couldn't handle, your speed and control were great and bagging yourself a hattrick topped off your performance πŸ‘πŸ”₯
Luke-pom: absolutely solid in defence once again sweeping up every loose ball and not allowing anyone to stop him from doing his job πŸ‘πŸ”₯
Isaac-pom: came to the game with a great attitude encouraging the team before kick off and when on the pitch made some great tackles, drove the ball up wings confidently and crossing the ball when needed, topping of a great performance he scored an absolute worldy from a tight angle πŸ”₯πŸ‘

U16 girls vs. Rothwell

Saturday 29/03/2025

4-0 loss today. The girls played really well but just ran out of gas. Not having any subs really hurt us today.
We started brightly with especially Lyla playing brilliantly. I could not have asked any more of any of them today they really did put all their effort in and the scoreline doesn't reflect this.
POM was Niamh who was rock solid today in midfield despite giving away 2 free kicks that thankfully came to nothing.
Ava was OPOM, despite feeling terrible she played the full game in and out of the nets and made some great saves.
Hopefully we are back to full strength next week and can get another win.

U17's Win at Home Vs Elland

Sunday 06/04/2025

A great performance from the u17s today joined by 2 from the u16s and an appearance from Rowan from the u15s plus one of of our old guard.

Reverting back to our old 4-4-2 style Joe and Oggy (Lucas) made a tremendous paring up front and fed well off each other to create some great chances.

We were strong in midfield, with Fin dancing around players and making some great forward runs. Great support from Riley, Hassan, Reyhaan, Will Rowan and Jacob.

The defense held up well as we have come to expect from them, great performances from Teddy, Jamie, Evan and Superstar free kick taker Connor.

Cobie battled a bobbly goal mouth and a the sun in his eyes to make some great saves.

Thanks to Chippie for keeping the game in order.
